Well, for my wedding I have lots of ideas and lots of time to get them done. I have decided to have the bridesmaids dresses made by a friend of a friend, who can actually sew. I cannot do that and I am sure if I tried the dresses would look pretty bad. I did find patterns that I love. They were only 99 cents for three patterns. I think that was a good bargain. The only problem is the seamstress has not called me back on whether or not she can make the dresses. After I decided to have the dresses made, I let the girls know and they were very excited. The pattern that I got are simple, but still elegant looking.
Also I have decided who I want to make my cake. I just have to get a contract with them. I have a caterer also, but I am still waiting on a contract to come. I just need a photographer, but that is in the works. I have lots of choices and a bridal show coming up. I like going to those. They give you lots of ideas and plenty of brochures. I just hope that I can start finalizing more before too long. I just have to have patience and it will come sooner then I think.
Hi! I’m having my bridesmaids dresses made, too. So far, the fabric and pattern total cost = $35! One of my bridesmaid’s mother is an excellent seamstress so she does not even have to pay labor! My other bridesmaid has to pay labor as she is out of state from us. My own mother is actually sewing my wedding gown. I am so excited and nervous because I know it will be beautiful but I also know it’s a lot of work for my mom. Anyway, I just happen to find your blog today and realized we have something in common: wedding planning. Good luck!
Nice to hear you have time to realize all your wedding ideas. You must be working full steam. How do you not let things distract you? Do you set aside a certain amout of time for wedding planning? Maybe it’s because you have a goal: plan my wedding. And so you do. You drive towards your goal with the knowledge that you’ll be satisfied in the end. I imagine you do, anyway. It seems this way. So, is the goal to plan your wedding? Or is the goal to be satisfied? Are they the same?

Making your own dresses, or having them made, could save you a ton of money or could cost you. Make sure you choose your fabric carefully and find out what she will charge for sewing them and how long it will take. As long as the costs and time are in line then go for it! It sounds like a very nice idea and special too since they will be made just for your wedding, not off the rack. Good luck!
